Slow around here

Not much going on around here I guess.  Here's my June do.Good Stitches blocks - tutorial can be found here.

In other news, I did open up an Etsy shop - see the link on the sidebar if you're in the market for some quilts!

Getting ahead on May Blocks

I was almost behind in April, and it stressed me out.  So, here's May's blocks done early.

Wonky Stars (and one precise one) for Jacey and the Love Circle of do.Good Stitches

May blocks for the Sisters' Ten BOM.

And one extra project, for the To Boston with Love project.  There's still time to make something if you're interested, deadline for flags is May 21st.  See here for more information.

March Blocks

Natalie always manages to design a great block for her month of do. good stitches.

Did you see the wonky pinwheel quilt?  Check it out here.

This month - half square triangle / log cabin block.  In oranges, blues, and I snuck a bit of grey in there.

February Blocks

First up, a flock of flying geese for Ara Jane for the Love Circle of do. Good Stitches

Then, I decided to join the Sister's Ten Modern Block of the Month Club.  Not that I really needed another quilt, but it's spread out over the whole year, so that's exciting to me.  I like having a background project.  I've limited myself to blues and greys, with Kona Snow for the background.

Quickest Project Ever....

Literally.  This took 15 minutes to sew.  And it has a zipper!

Made for the January swap for CLTMQG - using this tutorial.  It's such a great way to make this, I may have to try to scale it up for some gifts.

January Blocks - do. Good Stitches

For this months blocks, we did the Rocky Road to Kansas block.  (tutorial and template here)

This was my first time actually attempting paper piecing.  This is why I love this group, it makes me try new stuff, but only requires two blocks...so it's not an intimidating commitment.

Plus, this time fabric scraps were donated from Beth at Stash Fabrics.  Thank you!

Block one I used a white background.

Block two I used a Kona solid - Ash as the background

Since this was the first attempt....the points aren't perfect....but with all the scrappy goodness, you don't notice.

First Finish of the Year!

I'm really excited about how this one turned out.  It's another quilt using the stitch and flip method, but completely different looking than the last one I made.

I quilted with light blue thread, zig-zags in the negative space.  It really highlights the wonky triangles.
Quilt Stats:
Size: 40 x 60
Focus Fabrics: Blues and greens from stash / scraps
Background: Robert Kaufman Kona Lake
Binding: Dark blue solid
Quilting: Zig-zag lines, light blue thread
