Scrap Quilt

I have been sewing with scraps pretty much non-stop lately.  It's addicting.

I love this quilt. It's living with me, so it cheers up my grey sofa very nicely.

This block is from Sunday Morning Quilts, but I changed the color scheme to be monochromatic blocks, rather than all scrappy.  How does this barely make a dent in the scrap pile?
I quilted it with grey thread, in free form wavy lines.

I want to make more scrap quilts....

Courtney's Quilt

No fancy name for this quilt, just a bunch of pictures.  I made this one for the office manager at work for her wedding.  I followed the pattern from Modern Patchwork, I can't remember the name, and I'm too lazy to walk upstairs to look at the book...I think it's the first one....

I had some issues with this one, all those lines don't line up....but it's okay.   By the last slice, I figured out I was doing the order wrong, and it's still okay that they aren't perfect.  Only I can see it....

I quilted it in a radiating curve, from one corner....what a pain to get through the machine.  And the center puckered where I switched directions, but after washing....only I can see it.  :)

It's in her wedding colors, and she loves it. And I do too.  It will get used and loved, and that's all that matters.

Quilt Stats:
Pattern: From Modern Patchwork
Various greys and purples, all Robert Kaufman Kona Solids.
3 black and white prints from stash
Border: Robert Kaufman Kona Ash (why have I not used this color before?  Love!)
Bound: Robert Kaufman Kona Charcoal with a strip of navy (since she changed her dress color last minute from grey to blue.....)

Fabric....

Thank you again to Diane.  She enabled me to buy all these lovely solids on sale.

With coupons and such, it was such a good deal....

Next I'm sure she'll get me to Goodwill....

October Love Circle Blocks

This month for the Love Circle of do.good Stitches, Rachel picked EPP stars, in "Seasonal Brights"

I hope I got the colors right.  I kind of stressed over them, once I cut everything out.

The bad news is, I'm late sending them out - they'll be in the mail tomorrow.

The good news is, I discovered that hand sewing is the one activity that doesn't make me carsick.  This is great for me, bad for my husband.  I see a lot more sewing on planes and in the car....

Blogger's Quilt Fest

It's time for Blogger's Quilt Fest - Fall 2012!

This time, I'm sharing my absolute favorite quilt I've made....so far....

I call this one Merry-go-Rounds.  (It's dark here, and I keep forgetting to take these pictures...)

It was inspired by the Blind Co-pilot Quilt by Katie.  I got the inspiration after looking at the great book she co-authored.

Background is Kona snow, triangles are red, orange, yellow, and lime green scraps.

*Quilt Measurements: Roughly 54 x 72.
*Quilted by…Me on my home machine, in radiating diagonals.

Anyone want to join?    I'm not hosting, but anything that results in 280 charm squares is awesome!

Most Normal People Take Fabric on Business Trips, Right?

Where else would I get ironing done????

And just so you know, hotel ironing boards are VERY unstable!
